AllChinaBuy Finds: Read the Evidence Before Calling an Item “Best”

A useful shortlist explains why an item fits a particular need and what evidence supports the comparison. A high-looking score with missing measurements or unknown costs does not provide that explanation.

This independent guide defines the fields used in a finds review. For the practical row layout and comparison workflow, open Compare AllChinaBuy Finds.

Evidence completeness is not product quality

A well-documented listing can still be unsuitable for your needs. A poorly documented listing is unresolved, not automatically a bad product. Keep those conclusions separate.

1. Intended use and requirements

Describe what the item needs to do before comparing candidates. Separate required features from preferences such as colour or styling.

Use a requirement that can be checked: a specified garment measurement, a compatible model or an included quantity. A vague label such as premium is not a measurable requirement.

If two items serve different purposes, separate their comparisons. A ranking without a shared use case can conceal the trade-off that matters to the reader.

2. Source and variant fields

Record the original seller URL, visible item ID, seller label, selected colour and size or model. Add the checked date and keep the exact option wording.

A directory entry is a pointer to research, not confirmation of the selected variant. Use the actual listing to record its details.

Keep different variants in separate rows when their specifications, price or availability differ. Do not merge them into an average item.

3. Evidence source labels

Label seller description, seller photograph, community account, order-specific QC image and your own observation separately. Record what each source actually supports.

A seller's material claim is not an independent material test. A community photo may describe a different batch or size. An order photo can show a visible feature without establishing long-term durability.

Keep the source link or reference next to the field so the reader can retrace the observation.

4. Measurement and method fields

Store the number, unit, measurement points and source together. A value without a method may not be comparable with another listing.

If a chart and an image disagree, keep both values and flag the conflict. Do not average them into a new measurement that neither source reported.

Use Needs measurement when a required dimension is missing. A missing field should create a next action rather than a made-up positive score.

5. Cost completeness

Keep item price, domestic delivery, service charges and international shipping separate, with dates and currencies. Distinguish estimates from confirmed or paid amounts.

Show unknown destination charges and other missing costs explicitly. Label a partial sum Known subtotal rather than Full cost.

Use equivalent quantities, destinations and parcel assumptions for both candidates. Otherwise the cost comparison describes different orders.

6. Use evidence states instead of star ratings

For each required field, use Recorded, Conflicting or Missing. Recorded means a source value is available, not that it is independently verified.

For the overall next action, use Comparable, Needs evidence or Does not meet my requirements. Include a reason that identifies the decisive field.

Do not give a product an authenticity, safety or reliability score from these worksheet states. They describe the completeness of your review, not a certification.

7. Read a sample review correctly

Illustrative example: Candidate A has a recorded size chart, a selected variant and an item price, but its shipping estimate is missing. Candidate B has a lower item price but no required body-length measurement.

A can be kept for further cost review. B needs measurement evidence before it can be compared on fit. Neither should be labelled Best solely from the available prices.

The example illustrates an evidence decision, not a recommendation for an actual product.

8. Keep dates and revisions visible

Reopen source pages before acting on an older shortlist. When an option, measurement or price changes, preserve the previous observation and add a new checked date.

Record why a candidate was added, set aside or restored. Do not silently replace a source when a link stops working.

If you publish a comparison, disclose any relevant promotion relationship accurately and keep personal order data out of the public record. Do not claim independent testing that has not taken place.

Finds evidence questions

Does more evidence mean a better product?

It means the review is easier to assess. Suitability and product quality require their own evidence.

Should I score a missing field as zero?

Use Missing and name the next check. A zero can wrongly suggest a measured result.

What if two measurements conflict?

Keep both sources and methods visible. Resolve the difference before treating the values as comparable.
